Civil Aviation Affairs organizes, controls, and supervises all activities related to civil aviation in the Kingdom and issues technical regulations related to air transport, air navigation, and airworthiness, which apply to all aircraft operating in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The authority is also responsible for issuing licenses, permits, and certificates for various activities, including aircraft registration, personnel licensing, aircraft operations, and flight schedules. It also provides meteorological services, including weather reports and forecasts, and meteorological information.

The first airport in the Gulf having been established in 1927, Bahrain International Airport is an important connections hub between the East and the West. It caters to a range of airlines and is a major distribution center for international air freight companies such as DHL.

Gulf Air is the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, operating daily flights to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
