The Ministry of Oil and Environment recognises the important role of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s oil and gas sector, and its significant impact on operations and organisations. Advanced technologies are deployed to encourage the use of big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), along with developments aimed at digitally transforming oil and gas companies and ensuring the sector’s continued growth.

• Initiatives and achievements include:
  • Tatweer Petroleum created the first cloud-based big data platform by collecting data from all IoT-related platforms and using them in machine learning to generate maintenance reports that predict problems before they occur.
  • Tatweer Petroleum also detects crude oil emulsions through AI technology.
  • Launching the annual International Conference on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which focuses on the oil and gas sector.
