Based on Law No. (7) of 2019 (PDF, 138KB, 12 Pages, Arabic Only) for the Regulation of Birth and Death Registrations; Article No. (2) states that this law applies to the births and deaths that occur within the Kingdom and Bahraini citizens abroad.
The law states that the legal period for reporting births that occur within the Kingdom of Bahrain is 15 days and 72 hours for deaths. Whereas the legal period for reporting births and deaths that occur outside the Kingdom of Bahrain is 60 days.
If for any reason the legal period for reporting is over, the cases are to be submitted to the “Reporting Delay on notification requests after the legal period has passed Committee” in the Information & eGovernment Authority within 30 days from the expired period. In this case, births or deaths are only recorded once a judicial verdict is announced.
