Geographic Information System in eGovernment Apps

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in several of its electronic applications to facilitate services for citizens and residents in Bahrain. These include:

• Tawasul App: This application features the Fix2Go service, which allows users to determine their location. It identifies the current location of a captured image and directly sends it to the relevant authority along with any accompanying notes.
   
• Sehati App: This application provides the locations of pharmacies and healthcare facilities. It arranges a list of pharmacies and facilities from nearest to farthest from the user. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• Postal Services App: This application provides the locations of post offices and public mailbox services. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• Islamiyat App: This application provides the locations of mosques, Islamic centers, and Ramadan majlises. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• eTraffic App: This application allows you to report the locations of traffic accidents, identify speed camera locations on Bahrain's streets, find traffic centers and inspection centers, and view a list of fuel station locations. It provides a map to help you navigate the locations.
   
• Electricity & Water Services App: This application provides the locations for Electricity & Water Authority (EWA) customer service centers. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• eShabab App: This application provides the locations of sports facilities, youth events, and Ministry of Youth Affairs activities. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
• Government Directory App: This application provides locations of government entities. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• Wejhaty App: This application provides the locations of Bahrain’s embassies, accreditation centers, and consular missions in other countries. It provides a map guiding you to the locations.
   
• BeAware Bahrain App: This application provides users with the ability to track COVID-19 cases, alerting contacts through the geolocation matching feature. It also helps determine the isolation location for infected individuals and monitors their compliance within the permitted isolation zone.
