We want your healthcare to be accessible to you wherever you are and whatever your needs. This is why the Kingdom offers a range of public and private hospitals staffed by experienced professionals who are happy to help you.
Here is a list of government hospitals:
Salmaniya Medical Complex
The Kingdom’s most visited medical facility, Salmaniya Medical Complex has been caring for Bahrain since 1959. Offering a full range of services, it was relaunched as a medical complex in 1978, and continues to cater to the needs of citizens and residents through specialized departments such as Secondary Healthcare, an Accident and Emergency department, a Radiology department, and Outpatient Clinics.
The complex provides necessary services to patients staying in hospital wards, catering to a range of afflictions and health conditions. The wards’ services, organized by specialisation, are complemented by the nearby Psychiatric Hospital.
Bahrain Defense Force - Royal Medical Services Hospital
Launched in 1968, the Bahrain Defense Force - Royal Medical Services Hospital is one of the most important healthcare providers in the Kingdom, offering a comprehensive range of services and specialisations. It was a recipient of a health accreditation certificate from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards in 2007, which recognised the excellence of its services.
King Hamad University Hospital
Launched in 2012, King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) was a major step forward for the Kingdom’s healthcare services. It offers secondary healthcare and contains a center for major accidents and another for organ transplantation. The hospital also hosts educational facilities for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Medical University of Bahrain, built on the site adjacent to the hospital. King Hamad Hospital supports this university with educational services and practical experience for its medical and nursing students. KHUH’s opening of the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Radioisotopes, which includes the latest technologies and medical devices related to this field, marked an important milestone in the development of healthcare in the Kingdom.
