EWA is committed to ensuring Bahrain has reliable and efficient power and water to support sustainable development. At the heart of its mission are three key goals: providing clean energy, ensuring clean water and sanitation, and promoting responsible consumption and production. The Authority strives to achieve these goals by delivering top-quality services that meet its customers' needs and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
EWA has launched the national program "Kafa'a" to reduce electricity consumption in buildings in private and public sectors in the Kingdom. The program will be implemented in cooperation with Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) to increase the efficiency of energy consumption. Kafa’a aims to save electricity consumption by around 975 GWh and reduce carbon emissions by about 488,000 tons by 2040. The program will also contribute to flattening energy usage during peak hours, which will mitigate the need for additional generation capacity.
