Special Needs Access
The government is committed to ensuring that no one is prevented from accessing eServices due to disabilities. The National Portal has integrated tools to facilitate access for people with special needs including:
- Users with visual imparity can listen to the content using screen-reader software. Some free programs that can be used are NVDA, System Access to Go, and the Text-to-Speech feature.
- Users with hearing imparity who communicate through sign language can benefit from the video call service offered via the Government Services Contact Center 8000 8001 by using Skype, under the username “IsharaCC” to talk to a sign language expert to get the help needed.
The government of Bahrain develops all its eServices, websites, and systems following the National Enterprise Architecture policies and standards, which includes accessibility standards to provide equal access and equal opportunity to people with disabilities.
