How to report a fire emergency

Clearly describe the incident, number of injuries (if any), additional risks, and provide the full address (building number, road name or number, block number, etc.). Do not hang up until the dispatcher tells you to.

What to provide when calling

Your name and phone number.
Details about the incident and its severity. For traffic accidents, mention the number of injured or trapped people.

What to do before help arrives

Don’t put yourself at risk. Proceed cautiously.
Make the area safer if possible (for example, move people away, switch off electricity if safe).
Don’t move injured people unless absolutely necessary.
