The National Human Rights Plan 2022-2026
The plan (PDF, 1224KB, 87 pages) aims to make the concepts of human rights part of the national fabric, it includes four pillars: Civil and political rights, economic, social, and cultural rights, the rights of groups with priority care needs, and Solidarity Rights.
The Human Rights Plan includes several initiatives that encourages the freedom of Information Act among all services and information published by the government.
National Childhood Strategy 2013-2017
Developed in partnership with the UNICEF office in the Gulf region and the offices of the United Nations Programme in Bahrain, this strategy (PDF, 1057KB, 41 pages, Arabic only) was based on the four principles of the Convention on the Protection of the Rights of the Child. It covers all aspects of the lives of children in the Kingdom, including foreign children, from birth until before they reach adulthood at the age of eighteen.
National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities 2012-2016
The strategy (PDF, 11044KB, 142 pages, Arabic only) includes several pillars: legislation, health, rehabilitation, education, economic empowerment, social empowerment, empowering women with disabilities, ease of access to buildings, services, and information. This document provides a comprehensive analysis of national laws in comparison to the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women 2013-2022
The plan (PDF, 1706KB, 60 pages, Arabic only) includes five pillars that seek to ensure family stability within the framework of family interdependence, and to enable them to meet the requirements of competitive participation in national development, based on a principle of equal opportunities. It also seeks to integrate the needs of women in development in ways that provide them with options and opportunities. The result is a better quality of life and education through integration with partners and allies in institutional work, thereby making the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) "Arabic only" the main national authority on women’s affairs.
2006 National Environment Strategy
The strategy (PDF, 6648KB, 58 pages) includes eight main pillars, namely, air, water, land use and agriculture, marine and coastal environment, environmental health, oil, industry, and energy, environmental awareness and tourism, and biodiversity.
National Youth Strategy 2015-2030
The strategy, consisting of eight main pillars, addresses the realistic conditions of young men and women in the Kingdom of Bahrain and fuels their ambitions. Its goal is to raise awareness among Bahraini youth by promoting a culture of respect and understanding while considering their needs, interests, issues, opinions, ideas, capabilities, and aspirations. In addition, it highlights their contributions and strengths, and promotes new and innovative ideas and methods in dealing with the issues they face in the Kingdom.
National strategy for the elderly
Developed by the National Committee for the Elderly, the strategy (PDF, 2144KB, 24 pages, Arabic only) includes three main pillars: development in an aging world, health and well-being with age, and the creation of an enabling and supportive environment for all ages.
