Transparent Procurement Process

The government process all of purchases and contracts through public tenders which is managed by an independent regulator of government procurement practices in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Regulatory mechanisms are designed to ensure the fairness and equal opportunity transparency and competitiveness in all government tendering and purchasing practices.

The transparency and competitive nature of the procurement process supports the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision by accelerating the economic development and continued prosperity of our country.

Information on public tenders is available to anyone via bahrain.bh or through the tender board website.

If you decide to apply for a tender, your business need to be registered as a qualified supplier or contractor. Businesses need to register in the eTendering system which allows local and international vendors to have access to all the latest tendering-related information.

Bid Submission

Suppliers and purchase authorities can execute all tendering processes starting from advertisement of the requirement to the placing of the contract online.

Bidders shall submit their bids to the Tender Board from Sunday to Wednesday, between 8.00 am to 1.30 pm. Bids received after the specified closing time will not be accepted.

Tender Opening

To ensure transparency and equal opportunity; bids opening is carried out in the presence of the Tender Board bids opening committee members, purchasing authorities representatives and suppliers or contractors representatives.

Once the bid is opened, the prices can be viewed online on the Tender Board’s website. The opining prices can be viewed live online at the opening time via the Tenders Services “Live Opening” eService or the Tender Board’s website.
