The National Human Rights Plan 2022-2026

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Human Rights Plan (2022–2026) (PDF, 1224KB, 87 pages), led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, outlines a strategic framework to strengthen human rights protection in alignment with international obligations.
Developed through inclusive consultations with government entities, civil societies, and international partners, the plan reflects Bahrain’s commitment to transparency and cooperation with global human rights mechanisms.
The plan is built on four pillars:

  • Civil and political rights
  • Economic, social, and cultural rights
  • The rights of groups with priority care needs
  • Solidarity rights

It also includes a wide range of initiatives focused on legislative reform, institutional capacity-building, and the integration of human rights principles into national policy.
The implementation of the plan is overseen by the National Human Rights Committee, with substantial progress already achieved across multiple areas since its launch.
