Alignment with National and Local Development Strategies
The National Digital Government Strategy is aligned with the Government Plan under the Digital Technology Pillar, and encompasses the aspirations, preferences, and priorities of governorates, central government entities, public and private sector organizations, non-governmental organizations, and civil society groups.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has a central government structure, meaning that citizens, residents or visitors living in any city won’t notice any variance in any aspect of digitalization, including channels, network coverage, and eGovernment service offerings.
Vision 2030 aims to transform Bahrain into a technology-driven economy. The Kingdoms Digitalization Strategy was developed to support this transformation and accommodate digital technologies across key vertical sectors, including Financial Services, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Logistics & Transportation, Renewable Energy, and Oil & Gas. Enablers include ICT, Innovation, SMEs & Startups, and Human Capital. The strategy was prepared in collaboration with key public and private sector players through consultation workshops, best-practice assessments, working groups, and one-on-one meetings.
Meanwhile, the current National eGovernment Strategy focuses on consolidating the Kingdom’s eGovernment achievements and further improving the experiences of public servants and the efficiency of public service delivery, thus providing new opportunities for innovation, business creation, and economic development.
