The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs & Waqf plays a pivotal role in upholding the foundations of justice in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Working in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council and all relevant entities in the judiciary system and law enforcement, the ministry oversees all administrative aspects of court operations. Its responsibilities span the full range of judicial administration, ensuring efficient and effective court processes.

The Ministry’s vision is rooted in the preservation of rights and freedoms, as well as safeguarding both public and private funds, in accordance with the constitution and laws of the Kingdom. This vision is realized through an independent, specialized, and effective judiciary; a robust legal and administrative framework supported by highly qualified national talent; and streamlined procedures facilitated by advanced technology. Digital Courts Services

Demonstrating its commitment to modernization and continuous development, The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs & Waqf delivers a wide array of services through the National Portal bahrain.bh. These services include digital solutions for execution courts, legal announcements, case management, licenses, agencies, and additional functions essential to the judicial process. By leveraging advanced digital platforms, the ministry ensures convenient, secure, and timely access to essential services for citizens, residents, and stakeholders.

Reflecting its mission to embrace digital transformation, the Ministry has introduced a series of electronic initiatives that enhance the accessibility and quality of judicial services. Among these are the electronic filing of civil and legal lawsuits, and the implementation of judgments entirely online. The civil, commercial, and enforcement court systems now operate comprehensively in an electronic environment, from initiating a lawsuit to the issuance and enforcement of judicial rulings.

As part of its public outreach and commitment to transparency, the Ministry has published the Electronic Implementation Services Guide, which outlines the range of digital services available to individuals and organizations. This guide serves as a comprehensive resource for navigating electronic judicial processes and understanding the Ministry’s offerings.

In partnership with the Public Prosecution, the Ministry provides additional eServices—such as enabling individuals to pay criminal orders, streamlining legal transactions and minimizing administrative burdens. Beginning January 2025, the Ministry will also introduce digital judicial notifications, further modernizing communication within the judicial system and increasing efficiency for all parties involved

Digital Notarization

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs & Waqf has launched the Digital Notarization to streamline the notarization process in coordination with private notaries within the Kingdom of Bahrain. The new service eliminates the need for in-person attendance and paper-based transactions, using Blockchain technology to secure and digitally store notarized documents, ensuring their authenticity and preventing modifications. It also enables electronic signatures via OTP verification, private notary transaction inquiries, and transaction cancellation.
