Responsive Design on bahrain.bh
The new bahrain.bh portal has been designed using reliable platform coupled with a responsive user interface framework thereby enabling the content and services to be accessed easily by both desktop (Full View) and handheld (Responsive View) devices. With this initiative, eGovernment program was able to provide wider accessibility of eServices from virtually all platforms (desktop to mobile) to its users; ensure cross platform brand and content consistency; and significant cost savings.
This approach has led to a saving of approximately 30% of the cost of implementing a non-responsive mobile friendly portal site. Furthermore saving the efforts, time and cost associated with the development, maintenance and upgrade of a dedicated mobile portal site, the enhanced new bahrain.bh portal complies with the latest international standards such as the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards, and possess enriched features like improved site navigation, extension of features and services offered and use of unified search interface.
Passport Renewal Service
In December, 2014 the Passport Renewal eService was launched on the national portal bahrain.bh. Citizen are able to apply for passport renewal online and pay the fees via secured pay channels to ensure the highest standards of data securing.
Saving on public spending was achieved by cutting the direct and indirect costs associated with the paasport renewal process (papers - printing - maintenance of equipment - fuel subsidy - facilities consumption), in addition to the cost of human resources which have become more productive with the availability of the new online service.

eMeeting++ System
The Interactive Meetings System (eMeeting++) is a sophisticated electronic system for holding meetings through the use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), the electronic system is the first of its kind in Bahrain to electronically organize and manage meetings. The system provides an advanced solution for holding meetings without the need for the physical presence of the participants, and those who are physically present can participate and have access to all the meeting items electronically via the eMeeting++ system, where the participant can review the agendas, all the related reports, give comments, and exchange correspondence via smart tablet devices.
Saving on public spending was achieved by in terms of printing, fuel, overtime hours and paper shredders.

Developing the Issue of Advertisement Permits eService
The Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain launched a range of eServices that fall under "Advertisement Permits Issuance services".
As a result of developing this eService; the direct and indirect cost associated with the advertisement permits issuance (cost of paper - printing - archiving) has been reduced. In addition, the employees and staff’s productivity has increased.
The following Table shows the added value and benefits that have been achieved through the development of that eService (estimated at government level by the Bahraini dinar per year):
